for those of you who are heartless and callous enough to have forgotten: this sunday marks the nineteenth anniversary of my glorious birth. TREMBLE WITH AWE!!!!!!!!!

rather then spend my time ranting about the fact that the vast majority of the nations on this planet are more concerned about taboos concerning sexual orientation than about commitment, monogamy, or love, i'll just post a link. that'll show em.

anyone remember the broo-ha-ha that microsoft was facing a few years back? something called anti-trust? as is typical in our society, the second the news was off the t.v., most of us stopped remembering it (very 1984...). however, one fellow who appeared last night on nightly business report seems to remember. and, he reminded all of us that the notion of anti-trust laws in what claims to be a "free market" is oxymoronic. apparently, the people who make the laws down south are contemplating eliminating these laws.
though i doubt i need to say it: this is a good idea. if the americans want to claim that they are capitalists, they should, you know, be capitalists.
the way things are now, where a company can be punished for charging too much for its service, not charging enough, or charging the same as its competitors is ridiculous (and it can be punished for all three. i forget the words that are used to describe each situation, but they're not nice words).
of course, this only adds to my political disillusionment. isn't there any system that works in real life the way it's supposed to work on paper? capitalists sell out (har har...) communists start killing people... nothing works. if only we could go back to our familial nomadic tribes... they seem to be doing okay.

oh, and if you were reading about my emotional shambles yesterday: i'm ok now. ^_^
