My dad and I had a HUGE fight last night - or at least very loud.
I had planned to go have coffee* with Adnan at 9 o'clock. At nine I call him to find out that he is not at home, but had been forced out for some late-evening house hunting. He informs me, however, that Sean is in town. I call Sean, and at 10 o'clock he is behind my building waiting for me. I go to put on my shoes, and all hell breaks loose...

I can't remember exactly what happened and in what order, but the gist of it was that my father thought it was disgraceful for me to be going out at 10 o'clock "for coffee." He used the old "I can't stop you from having sex, but I can stop you from sleeping outside this house!" line, and how he's going to lock me out - in retrospect, trying to keep me at home by locking me out doesn't make much sense.

As I was leaving, I could hear him put the chain on the door, so I turned around, and starting banging against the door, probably annoying a lot of neighbors in the process. He opened the door, and we yelled some more, and I left.

So rather than enjoying a pleasant evening with a friend and a cup of white hot chocolate, I spent the next hour thinking about how much I hate my father, how much I wish he would die, and wishing even more that I could be the one to kill him so that I could set his useless corpse on fire and spit on it.

I've always said that my father and American politics bring out the worst in me. I hate it how he's able to turn me into this vicious, hate-filled creature. And I hate OSAP, because they don't care.

The worst part about it is that I'm going to have to break my promise to Josh, and I'm going to have to spoil his holiday for him...

And if you think I fight with my dad a lot, imagine what it's like for me.

*While this is a rather useless addition to make, it's my blog, and I'll write if I want to. Whenever I say to someone "let's go for coffee," they immediately exclaim "since when do you drink coffee!?" To go for coffee is an expression. What it actually means is "Let's go to Second Cup/Starbucks and I'll have white hot chocolate/a chai latte and you'll have whatever you want and we'll talk about our lives." As you can see, saying "let's go for coffee is far more efficient."
