hello boys and girls! we begin the day with:
the obligatory elf news update
on wednesday i had that meeting concerning visitation. my dad and i just sat around with some children's-lawyer woman and she talked to us about our feelings and our situation. i have another meeting with her on tuesday, and it really doesn't sound very exciting.
that same day, at about 5, i met jeff and mandy and went for a nibble at the rainforest cafe. you know, they really ought to have a more exotic menu, to go with the decor. there were elephants! and there were stars on the ceiling, and i made a wish on a shooting star. ^_^
we then realized we were running late, so jeff drove like maniac in the rain, and i feared for my life. he is never to drive again. ever.
we eventually ended up at second cup, where we spent hours of joy and coffee with the whole gang (minus greg.... ::: tear ::: ).
thursday i killed time and ran errands all day, and ended the day by hanging out with sean and sarah.
friday was nice ^_^ i got together with rek and then we joined sarah and sean for dinner and love.
and now we are here. behold the glory!

now that that is out of the way, it's time for some introspective stuff, namely:
why does vega dislike porn so much?
i've never really considered the matter, since it's never really come up. but it's come up now, so let is delve into the mind of elf...
i suppose it all comes down to my ideas of love and sex. at the end of the day, the concept of "sex without love" is strange and, frankly, stupid to me. it's like eating food that has no nutritional value - also known as "junk food." so i guess you could say that as far as i'm concerned, loveless sex is junk sex. and i think society needs a diet.
on the other end of the spectrum, any sort of intimate behavior between people who do care about each other... well, it's intimate. and i wouldn't want to intrude on that even by something as unattached as observation.
as an example, at a bus stop once, i was talking to mandy and jeff, who decided i was far less interesting that their own lips. after about a solid minute of watching them make out, i was suddenly overcome by feelings of violation. i turned around. it seemed to do the trick.

going back to the original issue, porn bothers me because i don't, can't, and won't separate sex and love.
