OMG mitul! i had no idea you were pro life... this is very upsetting for me... er... or an i misreading that, and are you pro-choice?
i was actually thinking about starting a pro-choice group at u of t (once i have the time to do so). this is an issue i really feel strongly about. simply put, the choice to have an abortion is never simple. and it's not just "well, if the mother's life is in danger then it's ok," because a mother's life can be in danger not just medically. what if she's from an ultraconservative household, in which case her father and brothers would have to kill her to preserve the honor of the family? what if her family would disown her and leave her on the streets? what if everyone she knows would loose respect for her? what if she's employed or a student and having a baby, or even carrying it to term, could irreversibly damage her future?
and what if she does carry it to term? my mother told me she fell in love with me the moment she saw me. if you were about to give a child up, could you life with that fact? or, if you wanted to give a child up, would you want it to come back 20 years later looking for you?
and most importantly, isn't the life of a grown woman more important than that of a few cells, heat-beat or not?

as a side note: on the topic of women who sleep around and have repeated abortions as a method of "contraception" - if such people exist, they should be sterilized.

and yes, i know what you mean about being told everything you know... and it is annoying.
lastly... are you perhaps seeing my point about why i may not want to go to montreal? i would LOVE to spend new year with my friends... but sober. BTW, remember, we did exactly that last year. and, as i recall, it was fun.
