another day in the life of the elf... let's enumerate.

1 - not really looking forward to the ball tonight. i mean, i'm sure it will be nice and all, what with miranda, jeff, sean, sarah, and josh all being there. but somehow it doesn't seem right. maybe i just resent the idea of attending a SMC event. maybe it's just that i'd rather sleep, drink tea, read for pleasure, and sleep some more.

2 - i want to give mitul a hug, and comfort her, and talk about souls.

3 - my saturday looks pretty uppety. the girls and i are probably gonna get mandy's belly-button done, and maybe do some shopping. then, in the evening, josh, max, mina (!!!), jordan, jen and i are all going to the phoenix. that ought to be good. i should get something nice for mina... brownies or jellybeans or something.

4 - i now post links to three fabulous songs by live. what are we fighting for, sanctity of dreams, and run to the water. i once cried to run to the water, and the memory of that event is very sweet and dear to me.

5 - i'm feeling stagnant. i need to figure out a way to fix that. i think i know that i have to do, but i don't think i'll find the oomph in me to actually do it. oh well, que sera, sera.

I SAID "NO" TO 69!

and by that i mean i voted "no" to the LGBTOUT's proposition of imposing a 69 cent levy on all undergrads. you may have heard me talk about this campaign - "69 -support our position" - but as it turns out, the LGBTOUT was not asking for donations, they were asking that every undergrad be charged 69 cents as part of their student fees. when i found this out, i thought "hm... i support the cause in principle... but something about this doesn't rub me the right way."
then i picked up a copy of the varsity, and there was an editorial on this issue. the young man who wrote it noted that 69 cents from 40 000 people equals $25 000, and it makes no sense that a club be given that much money directly, especially since all the other clubs have to raise money with bake sales, raffles, etc.
having figured out what was bothering me about it, today i voted "no" to the proposition. go democratic process!

i also picked up a copy of the gargoyle yesterday, and i loved it! apparently, the garg was banned for a while, after making statements that were "not very nice." but they are back, and they are goood.
branimir suggested that we transfer out of st. mike's college. apparently, SMC is the second most expensive college to attend, second only to trinity. we all know i would kill to go to trin, but i'd rather save a little bling. so i'm thinking i should transfer to university college. i can really see myself fitting in to UC. and i'd love to write for the garg.

since, ahem, some people, are not sticking to their promise of blogging at length about how cool i am and how awesome monday was, i guess i'll do it myself. besides, there are those who want to hear this.

monday was josh and my two year anniversary ^TM. it was actually a great day altogether. i skipped my tutorials, and ended up hanging out for three hours with jeff and sean. i got home, did some reading, and dashed off join my beloved.
i ushered him out of his room, and began preparing the food. i was amazed at how a massive pile of stuff on the countertop soon became a neat, organized collection of edibles.
i made us a candle-lit pic-nic. for full details of the menu, contact the elf.
when i finally let him back down in, he seemed very pleased. ^_^ as far as i know there are two secrets to romance, and i used both of them:
1 - candles make everything better.
2 - everything in excess. eg: a long stem rose is good. two-dozen is better. (i did not get two dozen roses. ah em poor. there was just a lot of food.)

i'm deliberating how much i can say without this becoming too obscene...
the whole evening was so great. but then, how could it not be - my boy is the best.
mitul, i wasn't able to get the "tuxedo strawberries" to work, so i just had melted chocolate and we dipped strawberries in it. i think that plan actually worked out better, if you know my meaning. ^_-
candlelight makes me horny. very, very horny.
i think i may have just passed the line of decency. i will stop now.

oh! one last thing - to those who are going to be raising a glass on this sunny st. paddy's day, remember: you are celebrating the introduction of christianity to ireland, and the destruction of traditional celtic beliefs. whoo!

sweet! this makes seven days in a row that i've blogged. that means i'm winning!!! or horribly loosing... i'm not sure which.

today will forever be known as the "strawberry fiasco." i can't get into too many details, but let's just say that adnan had to eat a lot of strawberries.

i mostly wanted to say that hanging out with adnan, davis, and haydn was awesome. it really made me realize just how infrequently i get to see them. i hope i change that come summer break.
our topics of conversation included the mafia, lesbian sex, and why all objects fall at g. as you can imagine, it was good.

i asked adnan what he would think if rek and i, hypothetically moved in together. his main concern was that we would become surgically attached to each other, and i would hang out with my friends even less. that is a concern i have not even thought of, and i think it's not really likely. i get sick of people after about 36 hours, so i think getting "alone time" would not be that hard.

note to self: do not look directly into the light.
