i did this same survey once before, except it was using only titles of songs from one group. i used rammstein titles. i noticed right away that most of my answers were very sexually charged - as is the nature of rammstein titles. to give a different spin on things, let's try some jj72.

1. Are you male of female?:
A girl made of hope poaches from the river
Her eyes are lost in hope, heart is made of silver
Rays of love shine on, rays of hope shine on
-7th Wave

2. Describe yourself:
Things go wrong when I trust them
In my naive way I love them
Like you told me to love them
I abide by man made rules
And am a picture of all fools
I have a border of white clues
-Formulae

3. How do some people feel about you?:
not like you
possibly
please love me
sincerely
-Not Like You

4. Describe your girlfriend/boyfriend/interest:
Someone who's strong and willing
Someone who will keep on winning
He will show you where you should go
-Oiche Mhaith

5. How do you feel about yourself?:
i saw you in a river
of stardust and golden spray
was sent down by the good sun
it covered you and made you shine

an angel thats what you are
but this shining flower
knows it can sting
-Undercover Angel

6. Where would you rather be?:
Here in your arms
The scent of your charms
Here in your arms
For always and forever
Oh always and forever
And always and ever
My Home
-Always and Forever

7. Describe what you want to be:
short sleeves and warm skin
losing coins calling next of kin
dropping words about the city we're in
ponds compressed by heavy air
us without care just sprawling there
god's in our world
-Oxygen

8. Describe how you live:
and i sing my sad songs
and i hope forever
-Bumble Bee

9. Describe how you love:
I need to touch your face
To feel your grace
My epiphany
I need to touch her face
To be embraced
Be my epiphany
-Half Three

10. Share a few words of wisdom:
Through the loss, the pain
Oh the love you'll gain
Through the years of strain
Oh the life to gain
Through the loss, the pain
Oh the life.........
-City

wow! just had a really great class of german.
recently i've been wondering if i really want to continue with the german. between the PHY specialist and that as a minor, i'll have, literally, no time to take any frivolous courses.
but today was a great lesson about the dative case, and i was all like "yeah, i can do this!"

in fact, school in general has been cool this term. in calc we're doing integrals, in PHY we are doing special relativity - which is very neat. the thing about s.r. is that everything is so EASY to derive once you have the two postulates (equivalence of frames of reference, and that c = c in all frames). i guess einstein's genius was figuring out those two postulates.
i want to read that book i have, On the Shoulders of Giants, so i can find out how such mad ideas popped into his little white head.

thank god it's thursday.
i like thursdays.

i'm in such a mood for a survey. i feel like spewing random facts about myself. i suppose i could do it anyway, but it's just not the same to simply rite down "i am hindu, i am vegetarian, i am a capricorn, i am in love."

everyone at the thinking corner has taken to writing a lot. that's why i don't respond there much lately: i just don't have it in me to do so much reading.
one thing i miss about summers past is how much reading i used to do. i would go in to the library on monday morning, take out a stack of books, and have read them all by the weekend. last summer, due to work, i only read on the subway ride into and out of town, and on my lunch breaks. it made every book take forever, and it also made it hard to get really engrossed in any one thing. that's what i resent the most about this "growing up" business - not enough time to just sit and read and think.
i'm gonna make pleasure reading a priority this coming summer. i'm gonna make brentwood library my second (or third) home. and i'm gonna do all those things that used to make summers so dreamlike - take longs walks alone in the middle of the afternoon, when it's too hot to be out; dip my feet in the creek; climb things.
childhood may be a state of mind, but it's much easier to cultivate such a state when performing the right actions. kinda like religious worship.
i want more rocks and trees in my life. i want to climb things, sit on things that are alive in a very vast sense. i want to write more, not just blog, though that's nice too, i want to write more poetry, and more fiction. since school started, i don't think i've written more than 5 poems. and how long has it been since i've written something longer than 2 pages simply for the pleasure of creating?

some days i really resent being financially dependent on my father.
i hate living with him. i hate everything about him.
i hate the fact that my being dependent on him is allowing him to slowly drag me into all of his illegal and immoral dealings.
i hate that whenever i have a good day and am very happy, i have to come "home," and he ruins it all for me.
i hate that whenever i'm in my room, if i hear him walking around, i feel threatened.
i hate that he won't let me leave.

to torture myself, i fantasize about what it would be like if i could move out, live on my own, or live with sean and sarah and rek. i loose myself in wonderful imaginings about doing homework and having dinner in peace. how pathetic that someone like me should lust for something as basic as that.

bwa! what a suck-ass birthday. suck ass with jelly, yo.
ok, so i get up on the sunny morn of january 18, and all is well with the world. i finish some reading, so some algebra, good stuff.
i go to the subway, realize josh is running late, then go to the theatre. catalina, the most wonderful person in the whole wide world meets me there a few minutes later.
then we wait.
and wait.
we decide that we don't want to miss the movie. josh - glorious human being that he is - arrives moments later.

i must degrees from my tragic story to say that big fish was amazing. i cried like a baby. well, not like a baby. but lots. it was really beautiful. i think what impressed me most was edward bloom's optimist and sense of joy. i want to live the sort of life he did, and tell the story of it the way he does. and i think we all want to die the way he did.

back to the tragic tale of me - once we get out of the movie, i realize the brani, jeff, and sam have not shown up. i got am e-mail from brani just now, which explained to me that it was my fault for not being better organized. he was not clear on when and where he was supposed to be. my bad - i should have sent an e-mail. i'm gonna talk to jeff later, and i'm sure he's gonna have a good excuse too. and for sam...

so we go on down to the restaurant. we go in... and no one is there. apparently, adnan got grounded, greg got a job, sean and sarah were running very late getting back from PICKERING. max, to his credit, was on his way.
so i was all sad, and quite embarrassed too. i especially felt bad that catalina, someone whom i very much like and respect, had to be there to see that all my friends suck.

i must now degrees again. the food at toku gawa was WONDERFUL. max thought it was too expensive, but i thought that the place was nice, the waitress was very friendly, and most importantly, the food was GREAT. so i was more than happy to dish out some cash for it.

cat went home, and josh, max and i went back to josh's place. on the way, we stopped at starbucks to buy a JONES SODA!!! if you know me, you know how happy that fact makes me. ^_^

sean and sarah arrived shortly. we all chillaxed and watched battlestar galactica, and ordered pizza. i, due to bleeding, was friskier than i think i normally oculd have been. oh, and one thing - we discovered that if josh quaks like a duck, i get turned on. i think i'm pathetic. or horny.
kate and rob went out shopping. as they were coming home, they called josh. he sounded a touch nervous on the phone.
me: what's up?
him: oh, they want to talk to me about something when they get back.
me: what?
him: don't worry about it.
so, of course, i start to worry. i'm all like WFT, did someone die, is he in trouble, why would he be in trouble, he hasn't dome anything...
when kate and rob got home, josh went upstairs to talk to them. a moment later he came down and, in a very serious voice, said "vega, max, sean, sarah, could you come up for a minute?"
at this point i started to panic...
we get upstairs and go to the kitchen, me leading the way. we get there to find the lights are off.... and two cakes are on the countertop, with birthday candles! i start beating josh for letting me get so worked up, and everyone sang and all was well ^_^

so i guess the whole thing wasn't so bad. good movie, good food, and 4 out of 10 great friends.
on the SUPER V! HAPPINESS-O-METER OF DOOM scale, i'd give this birthday *** out of 5, which ain't bad.

PS: adnan - good idea with the geocities.
PPS: i never thought i'd say that.
PPPS: i love josh. a lot. i don't think i can say it enough.
