Grr... On Monday I tried to get a pay raise... And instead I got a pay cut.

I'm not that mad. I understand that they can't really afford it. And Jean-Pierre needs my help, and I do enjoy tutoring quite a bit. But it sucks to know I'm making $6 per hour.
On the other hand, it's money that I wouldn't otherwise have. I am grateful for the ways in which it makes things easier. But more would be nice.

Perhaps this emotional ambivalence is why today's lesson was the most frustrating so far.
