you know, utah, you're not being uptight or anything at all. you are totally right. kids these days (gets cane, 70 medicine bottles, and glasses a centimetre thick) are just oversexed, and, what's worse, they're getting that way younger and younger.

i think it's a good thing that people are being more open about their sexuality. it has, as long as man has existed, been a very important part of life, and it's sad to think how meny centuried passed where people tried to repress, supress, and forget about it.
but there needs to be a time for children to be children. when i was 13 (that's grade 7, right?) boys were still foreign, and not to be trusted. and that's good, because it means rather than trying to figure out yourself in the context of a romantic relationship, you're figuring yourself out in the context of friends, family, peers, and superiors. of course, that's not to say that in grade 7 we didn't all have huge, melodramatic crushes that occupied our every thought. but the fact that, for whatever reason, you couldn't act on it... it seems healthy. we were still children.

my very first crush was in kindergarden. i can list you every guy i've liked since then: mladen, alex, mark, jon, roger, stephan, aaron, mike, evan, josh. in high school i liked just about everyone, at least a little (romantically/sexually, that is). those i don't nother to mention. those aren't people i spent any time or thought on. just "ooh! there's a nice piece of meat!"
and until josh, i never dated. hm.... but was that good or bad?
late middle school though to grade 9 and 10, my self esteem was lacking. i had everything i needed as an individual... except confirmation. would it have been better if i had it earlier? maybe, maybe not. how early?

before high school? no. that's too young. before 15, no, no way. even 15 and 16-year-olds i see as too young. but, would i ahve ever started thinking about suicide in rade 9 or 10 if i hade dated then? who knows...

i guess there's no very easy way to explain it. is there a logic to it? no. who decides how long childhood should be? well, i guess we each decide for ourselves. i, for one, have decided to never grow up. but the way i have existed thus far makes that possible. who knows how altering the past would have made me turn out. if i had dated at 14, would i be me? probably not. would i have been happier? who knows.

i'm quite certain i have made no sense right now. but the jist of it is... we should all have our petuitary galds removed at 12 ^_^
